Women of Ranya make a statement on the Elimination of Violence against Women

SULEYMANIYAH- Young women in Ranya made a statement on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, November 25 and they said they would empower the struggle against increasing violence.

Young women made a statement at Deri Park located in Ranya town of Sulaymaniyah city and they pointed out the increasing violence in the region. Zilan Musa read the statement on behalf of the young women and she highlighted that the violence is against all society and that the society cannot be free unless the women are free.

Stating that the violence against women is increasing every day, Zilan said that everyone, who has will and conscience, must take a stand and fight against violence. Saying that there is no law against violence, Zilan added, “For this reason, as revolutionary young women we will keep our struggle until the violence against women ends.”
