House raids in Bismil: At least 30 detained

DİYARBAKIR – Police conducted house raids in the Bismil district of Diyarbakır province and detained at least 30 people, including administrators of the DBP.

Police conducted house raids in the Bismil district of Diyarbakır. According to received reports, at least 30 people were detained after the house raids and Bismil elected Co-mayor Ali Çelik, vice co-mayor Şeyhmus Aydın, Democratic Regions Party (DBP) former District Co-chair Celile Kaplan and many administrators of the party are among those detained.

Names of detained people are as follows; Suat Karagöz, DBP district administrator Mustafa Kurt, DBP member Mehmet İnanç, DBP member Güven Tanrıkulu, DBP Municipal Council Member Zeyettin Araz, DBP member Abdullah Kurt, DBP member Hamdullah Yel, DBP member Fehime Efe, DBP Municipal Council Member Ceylan Efe, DBP member Mehdi Biçimli, DBP member Şakir Sunar, DBP member Muzaffer Sarı.

Furthermore, the reports say that nine women, their names aren't learned yet, were detained in the Alibey (Alodina) village of Diyarbakır’s Bismil district. The reason for detention is unknown yet and the detained people were reportedly taken to Diyarbakır city center.
