Peace Mothers: Nahide's detention is illegal!

DİYARBAKIR - Peace Mothers Assembly, who have reacted to the detention of a member of Peace Mothers Assembly Nahide Ormanlı, stated that Nahide was arrested due to the freedom and democracy struggle and added that the detentions of Peace Mothers, who struggle for blood and tears to come to an end, are not acceptable.
 
Peace Mothers reacted to the arrest and detention of the member of Peace Mothers, Nahide Ormanlı (60). Nahide, lived in the Silopi district of Şırnak was taken into custody by the house raid with an operation of the police on October 31. A member of Diyarbakır Peace Mothers, Gülistan Erik said that the detention of a women without considering her age and her health problems is illegal and added that the government takes aim at the women, because they want to deepen the living caos.
 
Gülistan said, "What can a woman between the ages of 60-70 do?" There is only reason why she is a Peace Mother and why she struggles for this because she hurt so bad in her heart. For this reason she doesn’t want the other mothers hurt in their heart.
 
Gulistan expressed that Peace Mothers are suffering from the grief of losing child and she said that all women living in Kurdistan are moving to prevent deaths and massacres.
 
‘We won’t step back on the freedom struggle’
 
Highlighting that a peace struggle has been carried under the roof of Peace Mothers for years, Gülistan said that those, who wanted peace in Turkey conditions, she/he declared as ‘terrorist’.Gulistan stated that especially in the last period, Peace Mothers was tried to be silenced by detentions, and the detention fury in Mardin, Şırnak and Diyarbakır is increasing. Gülistan said, "This effort and struggle of the Mothers deserves respect. Every mother has a right of wanting peace, freedom, and democracy. The arrestments, detentions, and deaths should be stopped as soon as possible. We are struggling for this. We will always struggle for freedom and democracy.”
 
‘Our seeking of justice is met by injustice’
 
Stating that many Peace Mothers are under the pressure due to the detentions, persecution, threats, arrestments against Peace Mothers, one of the Peace Mother Makbule Özbek said that they want to tie their hands with their pressure policies.
 
Makbule emphasized that mothers knows the grief of losing child and this is why mothers struggle in every field to stop deaths. Referring to the isolation imposed upon Abdullah Öcalan, Makbule expressed that they also struggle for lifting the isolation.
