Release decision for patient prisoner Yıldız Gemicioğlu

İSTANBUL - The patient prisoner Yıldız Gemicioğlu, who had stayed in Bakırköy Women’s Closed Prison, was released.
 
Yıldız Gemicioğlu, who had been sent to prison after the arrestment in Istanbul during the year 2000 when she participated in the death fast had been launched against F Type Closed Prisons, has been fighting against Wernicke Korsakof disease for 17 years.
 
The court decided Yıldız to be released from the Bakırköy Women's Closed Prison where Yıldız has been sent for treatment for her illness.
 
It was stated that Yıldız had difficulty in walking, speaking and swallowing and had a problem of forgetfulness and she had been reported that she could not stay in jail conditions 5-6 times from Forensic Medicine due to her illness but she had not been released.
 
 As a result of the application made by her family to the Ministry of Justice through a lawyer, Yızdız will leave the prison on the advancing hours.
