Solidarity letter from Sabahat and Figen to detained lawyers, journalists

NEWS CENTER- HDP former Co-chair Figen Yüksekdağ and DBP Co-chair Sebahat Tuncel imprisoned in Kandıra F-type Closed Prison have sent solidarity message to those who were detained on October during police operation in Istanbul.
 
On October 19, police conducted house raids in Istanbul and detained many people, including lawyers of Law Office of the Oppressed (EHB) and Etkin News Agency (ETHA) editor İsminaz Temel, the agency’s reporter Havva Cuştan. Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) former Co-chair Figen Yüksekdağ and Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Co-chair Sebahat Tuncel, who have been imprisoned in Kandıra F-type Closed Prison have sent solidarity message to detained lawyers and journalists.
 
Figen states in her letter that she is in solidarity with Özlem Gümüştaş and Sezin Uçar, lawyers of the EHB and ETHA editor İsminaz Temel and the agency’s reporter Havva Cuştan. Message of Figen is as follows;
 
“I condemn the operations and attacks on administrators and members of the ESP (Socialist Party of the Oppressed), women and human rights defenders lawyers and free press workers. Özlem Gümüştaş and Sezin Uçar have taken on advocacy of me and the elected ones. The ruling power, which continues to detain and to arrest, now is attacking those who defending law and justice. The elected women and I condemn these practices. Such kinds of these operations cannot stop our solidarity against the state terror and cannot block our struggle for rights and justice. We state that we are in solidarity with the detained lawyers and press workers, we are sending our greetings and our love to them.”
 
Message of Sebahat Tuncel is as follows;
 
“I condemn the arrest of lawyers Özlem Gümüştaş and Sezin Uçar. We condemn these attacks on lawyers of the politicians and we demand their immediate release. We state that we are in solidarity with the detained lawyers and press workers, we are sending our greetings and our love to them.”
