5 female prisoners launch a hunger strike in Iran

NEWS CENTER- Five female prisoners in Ûrmiyê Prison have launched a hunger strike action against the rights violations by the prison administration and wardens.

Five female prisoners in Ûrmiyê Prison, Eastern Kurdistan, have launched a hunger strike action against the rights violations by the prison administration and wardens. The Eastern Kurdistan Human Rights Organization says, “Wardens raided the wards of women three days ago and they tortured them.   Thereupon, five female prisoners launched a hunger strike as of yesterday.”

Names of women on hunger strike are; “Araste Rencber, Mihebet Mihemedî, Zeyneb Sekawend, Nazdar Weten Xah and Nesret Elî Nejad.”
