Intervention in Ankara Massacre commemoration in Istanbul University, many detained

ISTANBUL-A student group in the Istanbul University wanted to commemorate those who lost their lives in the Ankara Massacre. Police intervened in the group and detained many students.

Police intervened in the a group of students gathering at Beyazıt Campus of the Istanbul University (İÜ) to commemorate those who lost their lives in the Ankara Massacre. The students gathering at Havuzlu Bahçe in the campus and wanted to put carnations there; however, police didn’t allow them. Thereupon, the students shouted “Pressure cannot intimidate us” slogan and began to march to main gate of the campus. The police didn’t allow the march and detained many students.
