Syrian Women's Assembly holds its first meeting

DIRBÊSIYÊ - Syrian Women's Assembly, founded after Syrian Women’s Assembly Conference, held its first meeting in Dirbêsiyê city.

Syrian Women’s Assembly was founded after Syrian Women’s Assembly Conference. The assembly held its first meeting in Dirbêsiyê city. The Syrian Democratic Council (MSD) Co-chair Îlham Ehmed and 50 members of assembly from cities of Syria attended the meeting. The participants discussed the assembly’s draft constitution and projects.

Îlham Ehmed spoke during the meeting and she commented on the political process of the region. After her speech, the women discussed the Syrian Women’s Assembly constitution and gave suggestions and then the management, diplomacy, law, press, finance committees were formed.

The assembly members stated that seminars and meetings should be held in three months to introduce the assembly to the people.

The women will hold such kinds of meetings every three months.
