Student protests continue in Iran and Rojhilat

NEWS CENTRE - According to HRANA's report, 6,443 people, including 156 children, have been killed by regime forces in Iran in 38 days, and 50,553 people have been arrested. The report noted that student protests are continuing.
As the protests against the economic crisis, injustice and oppression in Iranian and Rojhilat cities entered their 39th day, the Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA) released its 38-day report. The report stated that the number of deaths during the protests had risen to 6,872.
It was recorded that 6,443 of those killed were murdered by regime forces. It was shared that 156 of them were children.
Since the protests began, different figures have been shared regarding the death toll. HRANA noted that its investigations are ongoing at this point. It stated that it is investigating information that there have been 11,280 deaths in protests across the country.
Meanwhile, the number of injured in the protests was reported as 11,021. It was reported that 50,553 people were arrested, 109 of whom were students. It was stated that ‘confessions’ were forcibly obtained from many people and that 307 videos related to this have been published so far. It was reported that 11,046 people were summoned for questioning.
Arrests continue
Another point highlighted in the report was that student protests were continuing. The report stated, ‘Arrests and security measures continue in various cities. Disruptions and instability in internet access and communications continue. Cases against protesters are being expedited.’ The report pointed out that student meetings and activism continue, stating, "Videos emerged showing a group of medical science students in Tabriz holding a memorial event on campus, displaying photographs of those killed and organising a memorial ceremony. Reports also came in of similar meetings and events taking place in Mashhad and Shiraz."
