DİYARBAKIR - TJA, in its written statement regarding the isolation and the disciplinary punishments given to PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, stated that crisis and polarizations emerged as a result of the isolation and said, ‘’This unlawful and arbitrary situation against Mr. Öcalan is intended the entire society, especially the Kurdish people.’’

 

The Free Women’s Movement (TJA) made a written statement regarding the isolation and imposition of two separate disciplinary penalties to Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) leader Abdullah Öcalan.

 

‘Isolation is intended to the whole society’

 

Stating that PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan last talked to his brother Mehmet Öcalan on the phone on March 25, 2021, TJA reminded that the phone call was interrupted. TJA stated that after the phone call, the lawyers and the family made several times applications for meeting and said, “Finally, as a result of the application made by Mr. Öcalan’s lawyers regarding the request for a meeting on November 22, we have learned that two more meeting bans have been given to Mr. Öcalan. This unlawful and arbitrary situation against Mr. Öcalan, who has been held under heavy isolation conditions for nearly 23 years, is an attitude towards all segments of society, especially the Kurdish people. We know very well that AKP-MHP fascism wants to strangle the freedom struggle and historical women’s comradeship of Kurdish women who wrote the history of resistance and struggle with deepened isolation’’.

 

‘Women’s struggle for freedom will win’

 

TJA said, ‘’The unlawfulness, masculine and fascist monist rule, which is getting deeper and deeper with the isolation, is felt by all segments of society, especially women’’. TJA underlined that crisis and polarizations are experienced as a result of the deepening of the isolation. TJA included the following sentences in the continuation of the statement, ‘’As TJA, we say; The struggle against isolation is resistance against fascism! The way to fight against those who want to strangle the women’s freedom struggle and destroy the women’s liberation line is going through to break the isolation! Isolation will lose, women will win! Women’s struggle for freedom will win!’’
