HAKKARİ - Reacting to the isolation imposed on PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan, the Yüksekova Peace Mothers said, ‘’The only thing we all want is to get news from Leadership. Enough is enough, how long will the AKP’s cruelty continue?’’

 

The isolation imposed on Kurdistan Worker’s Party (PKK) leader Abdullah Öcalan continues. While there has been no news from him for eight months, there is no positive or negative response to the applications for meeting made by lawyers. With the deepening of the isolation, while the politics of war in internal and foreign politics grows day by day, society of Turkey, especially the Kurdish people, feel the isolation more and more in every sense.

 

Reacting to the isolation imposed on PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan, members of Yüksekova Peace Mothers Council Saadet Doğma and Gulê Polat demanded that contact be ensured with Imralı and that PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan’s physical freedom be ensured.

 

‘We want the isolation on the Leadership to be lifted’

 

Stating that they have been struggling for years as Peace Mothers, Saadet Doğma said that the ongoing isolation on PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan must come to an end. Saadet said, ‘’There has been no news from our Leadership for months. Enough is enough, how long will the AKP’s cruelty continue? We all want peace and a solution. We want meetings to happen with the Leadership. He has rights like any prisoner. We want the isolation on the Leadership to be lifted’’.

Peace Mother Gulê Polat pointed out that the isolation on PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan continues as aggravated and said, “The Leadership should be made to meet with both his lawyers and his family. If there were rights, law and justice, there would be meetings with the Leadership, but he has been under isolation for years. His family can neither see nor speak. As Peace Mothers, we want to get a news from our Leadership. That’s all we all want, the isolation to end’’.
