Kurdish song from world-famous opera singer

NEWS CENTER - The world-famous opera singer Svetlana Kasyan sang the first Kurdish song she called as ‘my dream’. The opera singer, who sang the Kurdish song ‘’Wey Nêrgîz’’, announced that she will promote her album on December 17.
 
World-famous opera singer Svetlana Kasyan sang her first Kurdish song. The opera singer, who sang the song ‘’Wey Nêrgîz’’ in Kurdish, stated in an interview with a television channel in 2017 that one of her biggest wishes was to go to Kurdistan one day and sing in Kurdish. Svetlana announced that she will promote her new album, which also includes a Kurdish song, on December 17.
 
Who is Svetlana Kasyan?
 
Born to a Yazidi Kurdish family in Batumi, Georgia, Svetlana Kasyan immigrated to Kazakhstan with her family when she was nine-year-old. Svetlana then moves to Moscow to study with Russian teachers and take singing lessons at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory. She also interned with American maestro Placido Domingo in Washington. Having graduated from the conservatory in 2011, Svetlana gains experience in solo singing. And in the same year, she receives the first prize of the 5th International Song Contest in Ningbo, China. Svetlana still performs on the big stages of Europe.
