Commemoration for Bêrîtan in Şırnak

ŞIRNAK - Gülnaz Karataş (Bêrîtan), who lost her life on October 25, 1992, was commemorated on the 29th anniversary of her death.
 
With the leading of Free Women’s Movement (TJA), Gülnaz Karataş (Bêrîtan), who lost her life in the Federated Kurdistan Region on October 25, 1992, was commemorated on the 29th anniversary of her death, with an event held in the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Şırnak provincial building. Members of the Peace Mothers Council, HDP provincial and district organizations and many people attended the commemoration.
 
The commemoration, which started with moment of silence, continued with poems read.
 
Emotional moments were experienced while Bêrîtan’s poems ‘’My Rose’’ and ‘’Agir û Viyan’’ were read.
 
TJA activist Zozan Aksu commemorated Bêrîtan and said that they will continue the women’s struggle against betrayal until the end and keep their memories alive.
 
The commemoration ended with the songs sung, the slogans ‘’Bijî Serok Apo’’ and ‘’Şehid namirin’’.
