ŞIRNAK - Mesopotamia Cultural Center Botan artists protested the banning of Mesopotamia Cultural Center 30th anniversary concert, said, ‘’Kurdish music can never be prevented. We will sing our songs everywhere with our language and tunes’’.

 

The ban by the Kadıköy District Governorate of the 30th anniversary concert that the Mesopotamia Cultural Center (MKM) artists wanted to hold at the Bostancı Performance Center on October 16 was protested by the press release made by the MKM artists in Botan. Umut Botan made the statement on behalf of the artists from MKM. Artists came together at the Birca Belek Language and Culture Association in Cizre, Şırnak.

 

Condemning the banning of the concert, Umut said, ‘’As MKM artists from Botan, we do not recognize the ban. Kurdish music and voice cannot be prevented. Kurdish music can never be prevented. We will sing our songs everywhere with our language and tunes. We will continue our struggle for our culture and language until the end. No obstacles or pressure can make us take a step back’’.

The statement ended with the artists singing the song ‘’Zimanê Kurdî’’.
