IZMIR - The hearing of Ruken Demir, who is on the trial for the accusation of ‘’being a member of a terrorist organization’’ due to her journalistic activities, was postponed.

 

The 8th hearing of the case against Ruken Demir, who is on the trial for the accusation of ‘’being a member of a terrorist organization’’ due to her journalistic activities, was held at the 19th High Criminal Court of Bayraklı Courthouse in Izmir. At the hearing, which Ruken did not attend, her lawyer Zafer İncin was present.

 

At the hearing, it was decided to continue the trial, since the expected report on the digital materials taken in the office where she was detained did not come from the cyber investigation office. Ruken’s lawyer, on the other hand, demanded an acquittal as the report would not contribute to the trial, since the materials taken did not belong to Ruken.

 

The court board decided to wait for the report and postponed the hearing to January 12.
