VAN - The perpetrator H.C., who exposed the child to sexual abuse, was sentenced to 36 years in prison in the trial in which he was tried.

 

Male named H.C. was sexually abused the child in the Ipekyolu district of Van province in 2019. H.C.’s final hearing of the case brought against him was held at the Van 1st High Criminal Court. The child’s family and lawyers attended the hearing. The accused H.C. was connected to the hearing from the prison where he was detained via Sound and Video Information System (SEGBIS).

 

H.C., who made his defense at the hearing, repeated his previous statement and asked for his release.

 

Ebru Demirtepe, the lawyer of the child’s family, said that the crime was proven and should be punished with aggravated life sentence and stated that they agreed with the opinion presented at the previous hearing.

The court board decided about H.C. He was sentenced to 24 years in prison for ‘’major sexual abuse of a child’’ and 12 years for ‘’deprivation of liberty’’.
