Damage caused by power plant reached by fire not discloses

MUĞLA - Life defenders is demanding explanation from the authorities about the chemicals released by thermal power plants and their harm to the environment.
 
It was informed that while the fire reaching Kemerköy Thermal Power Plant in Milas district of Muğla was brought under control, cooling works were started. On the other hand, ash plumes and ash fallouts are observed in the region. Life defenders demand that the authorities provide information on whether asbestos, which has a carcinogenic effect, was released as a result of the burning of the power plant, and whether the fire reached the coal stocks of the power plant.
 
İkizköy which lead the resistance was not evacuated
 
While all the villages up to İkizköy, which resisted cutting trees in Akbelen Forests for Kemerköy Thermal Power Plants, were evacuated, emptying procedures were not carried out in İkizköy. Milas Municipality stated that 1500 people were evacuated from the region and the number of people to be evacuated is around 10.000.
 
On the other hand, no statement was made about the damage caused by the fire that reached the thermal power plant and the chemicals emitted into the air.
