DİYARBAKIR - DBP Co-Chair Saliha Aydeniz, evaluating the public meetings they held, said: ‘’I can say that the main principal problem of the people is the isolation policies on PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan.’’

 

The delegation consisting of the Democratic Society Congress (DTK) and Democratic Regions Party (DBP), Free Women’s Movement (TJA) and Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) completed their visit to many cities to draw attention to the isolation and hunger strikes. Within the scope of the visits, the social problems caused by the isolation and the solutions to these problems were discussed in the contacts with the peoples and the dynamics of the city.

‘We came together with the people of the neighborhoods, and in village by village’

 

Underlining that PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan is in isolation on the island of İmralı, where he is being held, Saliha noted that the isolation in question is imposed on all peoples. Saliha said: ‘’Today, both the people of Turkey and the peoples of the Middle East are under the oppression of the Turkish state. Everything that happens in this process is about isolation. As a delegation consisting of DBP, DTK, HDP and TJA, we held programs and meetings in the region and in Turkish cities. We visited house by house, village by village, neighborhood by neighborhood and met with our people and women. The most important topic of all our discussions was the isolation policies imposed today. We also discussed how we can defend ourselves against the imposed policies.’’

 

‘All problems are linked to isolation’

 

While drawing attention to the social problems caused by the isolation policies, Saliha said: ‘’The AKP-MHP mentality imposes monism. They develop policies of war and discrimination in order to realize this mentality. The main purpose of all this is to isolate society itself. Everyone feels isolated today. It is possible to see examples of this. Violence against children and women, massacres and plunder of nature are the consequences of these isolation policies. As it is known, the problems in the economy and the living difficulties of the people are actually the reflection of the isolation. It is a well-known fact that all problems are linked to isolation.’’

 

‘Isolation can only be broken with Abdullah Öcalan’s freedom’

 

Saliha said the following about the program they carried out: ‘’We continued our work from house to house. We had long conversations with our people about the country's problems. Despite oppressive policies, we saw that the Kurdish people are determined in their desire for freedom and that they protect their language and culture. During our visit, we conveyed that the government insists on solutionlessness and deepens the crisis and chaos. I would like to say that our meetings were fruitful. Our people made very useful comments and suggestions. I can say that the most principal problem of the people is the isolation policies on PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan. The way to enlarge the struggle definitely passes through meetings with the public. For this reason, we will continue to listen to our people and discuss solutions to problems together. It is clear that the struggle will defeat fascism. As stated in the message given at the meetings, the isolation will only be broken with the freedom of Abdullah Öcalan.’’
