BATMAN - In Kozluk, in the village of Yeniçağlar (Zîlan), one of the villages where DİCLE EPSAŞ cut off their electricity, the water started to flow again after 21 days. The other seven villages are still without water.

Dicle Electric Retail Corporation (DİCLE EPSAŞ) cut off the electricity in eight villages of Batman's Kozluk district on June 23 on the grounds that they had unpaid debts. Since the water dynamos in these villages are powered by electricity, Yeniçağlar (Zîlan) village, Bacak (Bacaxê) hamlet and Karpuzlu (Selîvê), Samanyolu (Kanîkê), Dövecik (Malê Gir), Parmakkapı (Hiskut), Taşlıdere (Holê) and Eskice (Xoxê) villages were left without water.

Along with thousands of people living in eight villages, the animals and agricultural fields were left without water. While the villagers have been trying to make their voices heard for days because of their lives, the teams of DİCLE EPSAŞ temporarily supplied energy to the dynamo that supplies water to Zilan Village. With this step, life returned to normal in the village, where the waters flowed after 21 days. Seven villages are still without water.

A child had died

While the citizens were trying to meet their water needs with their own means for 21 days, 16-year-old İsa Üke living in Zilan Village had barely escaped drowning in the canal he entered to bath on July 10, and died the next day in the Batman Training and Research Hospital, where he was taken.
