BATMAN - Batman Medical Chamber and SES Batman Branch, which made a statement regarding the water cut in eight villages in Kozluk, drew attention to the negative impact of the water cut on public health.

Batman Medical Chamber and Health and Social Service Workers' Union (SES) Batman Branch made a written statement regarding the water cuts in eight villages of Kozluk district since June 23.

In the statement, it was stated that the water cuts made during the pandemic period have and will seriously affect the public health, and it was stated that this sanction risks the health of the society even under normal conditions, and the following words were included:

‘’We would like to state that it has exceeded its purpose in the ongoing pandemic conditions in the world and especially in our country. Conditions such as access to clean and potable water and lack of hygiene cause different epidemics of infection that threaten public health, as well as disrupting the health integrity of individuals. As a matter of fact, according to the information we have obtained from the field, we have learned that diarrhea cases have increased at the epidemic level. We also know that we have citizens in many villages who are under quarantine due to the coronavirus. In the pandemic conditions we are in, these practices that endanger public health in the local area are unacceptable, despite the efforts of health workers, especially in intense conditions with sacrifice. Access to potable, clean water is the main determinant of public health.’’
