İZMİR - HDP MP Feleknas Uca, who drew attention to the importance of the unity and alliance of the Kurds in the face of the attacks on the Federated Kurdistan Region, warned that otherwise greater massacres could occur. Feleknas said: ‘’The day is a day of unity and togetherness.’’

The Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) has been carrying out a comprehensive operation in the Federated Kurdistan Region since April 23. As part of this operation, the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and the TSK attacked the Maxmur Camp, where civilians lived, the Qumriyê village of Amediyê was bombed on June 21, and the Mijî village and its surroundings were bombed many times on June 24.

Call for unity and alliance

In the face of the attacks and the KDP's attitude, Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Batman MP and Council of Europe Councilor Feleknas Uca stated that Turkey is trying to re-implement the Lausanne Treaty on the Kurdish people and called for unity and alliance with Kurdish intellectuals, artists, and Kurdish political parties.

‘Signing Lausanne for the second time’

Pointing out that the attacks on the Federated Kurdistan Region are increasing day by day, Feleknas also noted that according to the Iraqi parliamentarians, 77 headquarters were established where 3000 soldiers from Turkey were deployed to the region. Stating that the attacks against the Federal Kurdistan Region mean "occupation", Feleknas said: ‘’This is the enemy game played on the Kurdish people. They want to bring the Kurdish people against each other and drag them into a sibling war. They want to sign the Treaty of Lausanne for the second time through Kurdistan and the Kurdish people. The Kurdish people should not accept this.’’

‘There may be mass murders if the alliance is not enlarged’

Drawing attention to the importance of the unity of the Kurds, Feleknas noted that unity is stronger than hostility. Feleknas, who called for the Kurds not to deceived by the state, said: ‘’Especially Kurdish parties, intellectuals, academics, all Kurdish people should not remain silent in the face of this occupation. If we do not strengthen our unity today, if we do not come together, if we do not grow our alliance, mass murder will happen to us. We saw Anfal, Halabja, Kobanê, Sur and Nusaybin.’’

‘Unity and alliance messages should be given again’

Reminding that KDP Chairperson Mesut Barzani visited the Maxmur Camp and emphasized alliance and unity in his speech there, Feleknas emphasized the necessity of giving these messages again. Feleknas said: ‘’We want to see the Kurdish Unity Conference and the photo of all Kurdish parties coming together. We want the Southern Kurdistan parties to declare that they will not remain silent against the occupation and that they do not want a sibling war. Everyone should hold themselves accountable for this. If we remain silent against this today, this occupation and massacre will only get bigger. It is a day of unity and togetherness. We Kurds must put forward our unity. Therefore, let's say that unity is the solution, unity is freedom and Kurdistan.’’
