IZMİR - TJA and the Peace Mothers Initiative visited HDP İzmir Provincial Organization and the parents of Deniz, who lost her life in an attack on June 17. During the visit, it was announced that mother Fehime Poyraz participated in the Peace Mothers Initiative.

 

Visits continue after the attack on the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) İzmir Provincial Organization on June 17 by the perpetrator of the massacre Onur Gencer and the murder of party employee Deniz Poyraz. Free Women’s Movement (TJA) and Peace Mothers Initiative visited the provincial organization and the party members today. HDP MPs Feleknas Uca, Serpil Kemalbay and HDP provincial executives welcomed TJA activists and Peace Mothers at the provincial building.

 

Deniz is commemorated with flowers

 

First, the corner in the party building was visited for Deniz Poyraz, and flowers were left in front of Deniz's photograph. Speaking here, Peyruze Kurt, a member of the Izmir Peace Mothers Initiative, condemned the attack and said that they will continue Deniz's struggle for peace and stated: ‘’Once again, we extend the hand of peace. Enough is enough, stop this blood.’’

 

‘We know who is behind the attack’

 

Speaking afterwards, Feleknas said that they knew who the murderers were and who was behind them and stated: ‘’Because of the fascist mentality, our friend was murdered inside our party. The fascist mentality carries out the massacre and genocide through women. In this respect, Deniz's murder is not a coincidence.’’

 

Massacre will be held accountable

 

Feleknas finally stated: ‘’But let everyone know well; The heart of our friend was beating for freedom. Deniz, sleep comfortably where you sleep, sister; We will support the freedom struggle together. And we will raise your freedom struggle as mothers and your woman friends. We will ask for the account of the massacre. We promise; We will embrace your struggle for freedom and peace.’’

 

‘Women continue to say peace against militarism’

 

HDP İzmir MP Serpil Kemalbay, on the other hand, stated that if all women in Turkey unite around a joint struggle, a life in which the Denizs do not die can be established, and stated that the struggle of Peace Mothers and Saturday Mothers occupies an important place in the unity of women's struggle. Serpil mentinoed: ‘’Despite the loss of their relatives, our mothers still say ‘peace’. Mother Fehime said, ‘May the testimony of Deniz lead to peace.’ We women have the will to build a new life against this patriarchal militarist mentality. We are the women who will lead the way. We women will create the society that Deniz dreams of. We will fight for this.’’

Then the delegation went to Deniz's house in Ballıkuyu and visited mother Fehime Poyraz and father Abdulillah Poyraz. During the visit, the Peace Mothers Initiative announced mother Fehime as its members.
