Hunger strike action continues on its 187th day

NEWS CENTER - The hunger strike launched against the isolation imposed upon PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan and the increasing rights violations in prisons is on its 187th day.

The indefinite-alternating hunger strike launched by Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) and Kurdistan Free Life Party (PJAK) prisoners on November 27, 2020, to demand the end of the aggravated isolation on PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan and an end to the increasing violations of rights in prisons continues. The action entered its 187th day with the 38th group.

On the other hand, Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Hakkari central district co-chair Sinem Seven emphasized the importance of the demands of the prisoners and demanded that the isolation and violations of rights come to an end as soon as possible.
