ANKARA - The detention period of eight health workers, including SES Co-Chair Selma Atabey, has been extended for four days.

Eight health workers, including Health and Social Service Workers' Union (SES) Co-Chair Selma Atabey, were detained in a raid on their home on May 25. While SES members and executives, who have been detained in the Ankara Police Department for four days, are expected to be transferred to the courthouse, the prosecutor extended the detention period by four days on the grounds that "the documents are not ready."

While the reasons for their detention cannot be learned due to the confidentiality order in the file, it was stated that the detainees had health problems.

The names in custody are as follows: "SES Co-Chairperson Selma Atabey, SES former Co-Chair Gönül Erden, SES former Central Executive Board (MYK) member Fikret Çalağan, Rona Temelli, former MYK member Belkız Yurtsever, SES former co-chair Bedriye Yorgun, retired members Ramazan Taş and Erdal Turan."
