MARDİN - Garibe Gezer, who was kept in a cell in Kandıra Prison, was battered by the guards after refusing to accept administration’s request for a meeting.

Garibe Gezer, who was sent to Kocaeli Kandıra No 1 F-Type Closed Prison on the grounds that she set fire to her ward in Kayseri Bünyan Women's Closed Prison, is being kept in cell confinement on the grounds that "there is no place" despite the end of her 22-day cell confinement. In weekly telephone conversation with her family, Garibe stated that the prison administration wanted to interview her because she reacted to being kept in the cell, but she refused, adding that she was wanted to be forcibly taken away by 10 guards.

Stating that she was battered for resisting forced taking, Garibe said that she was dragged on the ground. Garibe stated that she could not move her arm and that she had wounds on her body.
Saying that they placed ordinary prisoners next to the cell where she was staying, Garibe stated that ordinary prisoners threw glasses, bottles, and glasses from the wall.

Stating that the letters and petitions they sent to women’s associations regarding what happened in prison were also confiscated, Garibe requested a delegation within the Human Rights Association (İHD) to conduct investigation in the prison.
