DERSİM / ŞIRNAK - Forest fires continue in close area to Koçkozluca village in Dersim’s Hozat district and in Mount Gabar in Şırnak.

 

The cities of the region are on the agenda again with forest fires that have been going on for days.

 

After the military operation launched in Amutka, Dereköy and Koçeri regions of Dersim’s Hozat district on May 9, the fire spread in the forest area in the region. While no action has been taken to put out the fire, the reactions are growing day by day.

 

Against the reactions, the General Directorate of Forestry stated that the news was "untrue", and the Tunceli Governorship stated that there were no forest fires in its statement on May 13, but the fire’s footage was taken by our agency.

It was observed that the forest fires spread close to the village of Koçkozluca, located in the middle of Ovacık - Hozat - Çemişgezek, while it was learned that the fire in the Amutka, Dereköy, Koçeri and Zoğar regions was die down.

The fire on Mount Gabar is spreading

 

The fire that broke out yesterday in the rural area of Gabar Mountain Kırkkuyu (Deştalela) village in the city center of Şırnak continues. As the fire spread, more than 20,000 acres of vineyards, gardens and agricultural property burned, according to information from the villagers. While the authorities did not make any intervention to the fire, the villagers were trying to put out the fire with their own means.
