Ministry approves massacre of 45 wild goats

ANTALYA - The 6th Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry announced that it will open a tender for the slaughter of 45 wild goats.
 
The 6th Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry made a tender announcement for "45 wild goats and faulty horn wild goats in 13 batches to be hunted for agency quotas". Two of the 45 wild goats requested to be slaughtered within the scope of the tender are located in Sütçüler district of Isparta, and the rest are in Antalya’s Akseki, Kaş, İbradı, Gazipaşa, Alanya, Döşemealtı, Finike districts and various villages of these districts.
 
According to the news of Gazette Duvar, while the announcement of the Ministry caused a reaction in social media, a call was made to cancel the tender.
 
Ecologists asked the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry to cancel the tender by using the "HuntingIs Murder" hashtag in their social media posts. Participants in the tender to be held in Burdur on June 4, in the open procedure, are required to pay 200 TRY for the tender document price and the bid bond amount equal to three percent of the price. The cost of wild goats also varies according to the region. The ministry determines 17,600 liras, excluding VAT, for the killing of two wild goats in Isparta's Sütçüler district, and the figures for Antalya range from 17,600 lira to 122,400 lira.
Accordingly, the ministry will earn 3,070,600 liras as a result of 45 mountain goats tender.
