URFA - Representing Emine and Ferit Şenyaşar, who were detained prior to the visit of HDP co-chair, Pervin Buldan and the retinues were on vigil in front of the courthouse.

Pervin Buldan, co-chair of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP), Emine and Ferit were taken into custody prior to their visit to Emine and Ferit Şenyaşar, who had a sit-in in front of the Urfa Courthouse. The delegation including Pervin and HDP MPs Ebru Günay, Ayşe Sürücü, Mahmut Toğrul and HDP Urfa provincial co-chairs and executives, who came to the place where the family was on vigil, wanted to make a statement. However, on the grounds of the pandemic, the police claimed that they would not be allowed to statement.

On the other hand, it was noteworthy that a police chief, who said that making a statement was prohibited, said that he would file a criminal complaint against the MPs who wanted to make a statement.

‘We have no expectations from the government’

The MPs who did not accept the blocking made a statement. Pervin Buldan stated that they came to support Emine and Ferit Şenyaşar and join the family's struggle. Pervin said: "Şenyaşar family experienced a pain. We came to feel this in our hearts. However, we came and Şenyaşar family is not here, there are police in their places. A new unjustness is experienced. It is not the cruelty that the family expects, but justice, the unlawful trial must be done again. Two investigations were made, arrests were made, but the second file was not opened yet. We have no expectation from this government."

‘Justice will definitely provided’

In the rest of her speech, Pervin pointed out that there are not even the crumbs of democracy in Turkey and added: "We have expectations from the new government after the Justice and Development Party (AKP) leaves. Şenyaşar family lost three people, on the other side, one person died, we want to find out why these four people were killed and who the criminals were. We demand that Şenyaşar family be released as soon as possible. Justice will definitely provided. Today Şenyaşar family is not here, but we are doing a sit-in for a certain period of time."
After the statement, a 10-minute sit-in was held.
