31st group takes over hunger strike action

NEWS CENTER - The hunger strike launched by the prisoners against the aggravated isolation imposed on PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan and the increasing violations of rights in prisons has entered its 151st day with the 31st group.
 
The 31st group took over the hunger strike launched by Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) and Kurdistan Free Life Party (PJAK) prisoners on November 27, 2020, demanding an end to the isolation imposed on PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan and the increasing violations of rights in prisons. The action has entered its 151st day.
 
Speaking to our agency, Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Spokesperson Ebru Günay referring to the actions of the prisoners, said: "There are hunger strikes today, the government has closed its ears and eyes to the demands of the prisoners. The situation is getting worse with each passing day."
