Court board wants one-session trial in Kobanê Case

ANKARA -The first hearing of the trial in which 108 people, including HDP former Co-Chairs, were tried, will be held on April 26 at the Sincan Prison Campus. While the decision was made to attend the hearing with a sound and video information system (SEGBİS) especially for the names who were detained outside the Sincan Prison. It is also stated that the court board wants to complete the case within the one-session.
 
The Kobanê Case was opened on the grounds of the actions taken in the country and the region between October 6-8, 2014 against ISIS attacks to Kobanê. The first hearing of the Kobanê Case, which was opened against 108 people, including Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) former Co-Chairs Figen Yüksekdağ and Selahattin Demirtaş, and Democratic Regions Party's former (DBP) Co-Chair Sebahat Tuncel, was held on April 26 in Sincan Prison Campus by 22nd High-Criminal Court at 9:30 am.

Figen Yüksekdağ and Selahattin Demirtaş were expected to attend the hearing with SEGBİS, while Sebahat Tuncel, who is detained in Kandıra No 1 F-Type Prison, requested to participate in the case. Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality (DBB) former co-chair Gülten Kışanak and Aysel Tuğluk, who are in Kandıra Prison, are also expected to attend the hearing with SEGBİS. Ayla Akat and other names in Sincan Prison will be present in the courtroom.

While the long-term trial debates started in the Kobanê Case, it was noted that "a special delegation was appointed" to deal with the file and the delegation wanted to complete the case immediately by holding one long-term session. The attorneys objected to the long-term session requested by the court, but, its negotiations are still ongoing. In the Kobanê Case, in which nearly 2600 people were "petitors", the "complaint" of the institutions were also included. Petitors, who claim that their "shops have been plundered" are expected to participate in the case with SEGBİS.
 
More than 50 attorneys are expected to attend
 
More than 50 attorneys are expected to attend the hearing to be held within the scope of the file. It was learned that the attorneys had meetings with their clients on the process of the case, and the attorneys will finally hold a meeting on Sunday, and commissions will be established as a result of this meeting.
 
HDP Co-Chairs will also attend the hearing
 
The first hearing of the case is expected to be attended by the whole assembly group, including HDP Co-Chairs Pervin Buldan and Mithat Sancar. Nearly 500 non-governmental organizations, political parties, trade associations, human rights institutions, and intellectuals called solidarity for the case.
 
Reportedly, the press releases regarding the course of the session will be made before, between, and at the end of the hearing.
 
It is stated that the journalists and 15 foreign delegations from abroad, who want to follow the hearing can be admitted to the hearing.
