Gebze Prison administration seizes baby Miraz’s milk and formula!

	NEWS CENTER - Milk and formula of 22-month-old baby Miraz, who has been held in Gebze Women’s Prison with his mother Gülistan Diken Akbaba, have been seized by the prison administration.

	Last Sunday, 22-month-old baby Miraz, who has been held in Gebze Women’s Prison with his mother Gülistan Diken Akbaba, went out from the prison in order to spend time with his father. His father Cengiz bought a bottle of milk and a box of fruit yogurt for Miraz and took him to the prison. However, the prison administration seized the bottle of milk and the box of fruit yogurt. Yesterday, Cengiz talked to Gülistan by telephone and he learned that the bottle of milk and the box of fruit yogurt haven’t been given to Miraz yet. The family said they were going to initiate legal action against the prison administration.

	In 2012, Gülistan Diken Akbaba was sentenced to six years and three months in prison for allegedly “being member of a (terrorist) organization”. On February 8, 2017, she was arrested after the prison term was approved by the Supreme Court and she was sent to Bakırköy Prison with her seven-month-old baby Miraz. Then, they were transferred to Gebze Women’s Prison.
