Women collect medicinal herbs on mountains of Hakkari

	HAKKARİ - Medicinal herbs growing at the peaks of the mountains have been collected by women who know the nature best, and the women bring them for the people living in the city.

	 

	Just like every year, the women have begun to collect the medicinal herbs on the mountains with the arrival of spring. Women bring many medicinal plants such as thistle and sansevieria growing on the Esendere, Serdeşt and Mesken mountains of Hakkari’s Yüksekova district for the people living in the city. The women gather after sunrise and depart for the mountains. They walk to the peak of the mountains and collect the medicinal herbs.

	 

	After collecting the herbs, they bring them to the city and sell them. The herbs are added to the meals and they are used to make cheese (herby cheese).
