Pervin Buldan: Operations cannot intimidate us

	ANKARA - HDP Co-chair Pervin Buldan spoke during the first meeting of the Women’s Assembly after the 3rd Ordinary Congress of the party. Pervin said those who couldn’t tolerating the enthusiasm and morale of the congress wanted to intimidate the Kurds and their organizations.

	 

	First meeting of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Women’s Assembly after the party’s 3rd Ordinary Congress was held at the headquarters of the party to plan the new period and the March 8. Opening speech of the meeting was made by Pervin Buldan. Saying that they had a strong and spirited congress on February 11, Pervin expressed that the determination and resistance for struggle will continue in the streets and every area.

	 

	‘Those who cannot tolerate the enthusiasm begin to launch the operation’

	 

	Stating that the struggle should be grown, Pervin thanked to all women made contribution to the congress; “The congress was very meaningful and important for us. Those who cannot tolerate the enthusiasm during the congress begin to launch the operation. Former Co-chair Serpil Kemalbay was taken into custody immediately after the congress. Our friend Serpil is still in custody. Today, our women friends were taken into custody by a new operation.”

	 

	‘Justice is disregarded when the question is the Kurds and women’

	 

	Emphasizing that the judicial system uses the justice to intimidate the Kurds and all segments defending peace and democracy, Pervin said, “Justice is disregarded when the question is the Kurds and women. Why is the justice practiced for Deniz Yücel not being practiced when the question is the HDP? Why isn’t it practiced for the people defending human rights and women’s freedom?”

	 

	‘They cannot intimidate us’

	 

	“We will band together against the AKP’s attacks. We will continue to defend peace and freedom,” Pervin said, “Their operations cannot intimidate us. Detention and arrest cannot interrupt our struggle.”
