Autonomous communal chain opened in Serêkaniyê

	SERÊKANIYÊ – “Autonomous communal chain” has been opened in Serêkaniyê by Kongra Star.

	“Autonomous communal chain” has been opened in the Serêkaniyê city of Cizîr Canton by Kongra Star. The first commune named “Martyr Melsa” has been opened in Zarova Neighborhood. Kongra Star members, co-chairs of the commune and many women participated in the opening ceremony.

	Kongra Star management member Selwa Xetip spoke in the opening ceremony and she said, “As Kongra Star, we have begun to open the commune chain. Our goal is to make women’s labor visible and to prevent the women facing torture and injustice by organizing them. The women will get training here and they will learn how to resist against occupying system.”

	After the opening ceremony, the women chanted the slogan, “Jin jiyan azadî (women, life, freedom)”.
