Commemoration in Sulaymaniyah for Sakine, Fidan and Leyla 2018-01-13 10:38:48   SULAYMANIYAH - Three Kurdish women Sakine Cansız, Fidan Doğan and Leyla Şaylemez, who were killed in Paris on January 9, 2013, were commemorated in Sulaymaniyah. The fourth prize given in the memory of Sakine Cansız has been awarded to a revolutionary, ecologist and Kurdish friend Berta Klaseris.   On the 5th year of the murder of Sakine Cansız (Sara), one of the co-founders of the PKK, Fidan Doğan (Rojbîn), member of the Kurdistan National Congress (KNK) and Leyla Şaylemez (Ronahî), member of the Kurdish Youth Organization, the three Kurdish women were commemorated in Sulaymaniyah. Members of the Tevgera Azadî, Kurdistan Patriotic Youth Movement, Revolutionary Young Women and many people attended the commemoration organized by the Kurdistan Free Women's Organization (RJAK).   After the minute's silence, the commemoration was started.   ‘Pioneer of women’s struggle’   Kurdistan Free Women's Organization (RJAK) member Necibe Ömer spoke during the commemoration and she said, “Heval (Friend) Sakine was one of the first women faced the problems of society. She was a pioneer in the strengthening of the women's struggle.”   During the commemoration, the fourth prize given in the memory of Sakine Cansız has been awarded to a revolutionary, ecologist and Kurdish friend Berta Klaseris.
