Vigil action from people against the cutting of olive trees

	ISTANBUL – Villagers start a vigil action when a private company starts to cut olive trees to build a thermal power plant in Bartın province. 

	 

	Villagers react to a private company, which starts to cut olive trees to build a thermal power plant. The villagers, whose olive trees are cutting down, have started a vigil action in where the trees are. Bartın Platform has made a statement on the issue and they stated that an application was made to the ministry on December 18 for permission to transfer the olive trees and on December 19, this permission was given. The statement says, “How did the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock take this decision in a day? We leave this to public opinion’s discretion.”
