We left behind the 100th anniversary of the October revolution but new October Revolutions are waiting for us. Rojava now becomes the Democratic Federation of North Syria with its spreading light. We also should create our own Rojava,” said Peoples' Democratic Congress (HDK) Co-spokesperson Gülistan Kılıç Koçyiğit during the 8th Ordinary General Meeting of the HDK.    8th Ordinary General Meeting of the HDK was held at Plaza Hotel with the motto, “Democracy with the parliaments and freedom with the democratic republic.” Many delegations from Turkey and Kurdistan attended the meeting and banners in six languages were hung at the meeting hall. HDK Co-spokespersons Gülistan Kılıç Koçyiğit and Onur Hamza, Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Co-chair Serpil Kemalbay, Democratic Society Congress (DTK) Co-chair Leyla Güven, KESK Co-chair Aysun Gezen, HDP Women’s Assembly Spokesperson Besime Konca, HDP MPs, Socialist Reconstruction Party (SYKP) Co-chair  Tülay Hatimoğlu, Socialist Women’s Assembly (SKM) Spokesperson Fadime Çelebi, HDK organizations and delegations attended the meeting.    ‘Name of corrupt system is capitalism’    The meeting started after one minute silence for the women killed by male violence and revolutionaries, who lost their lives. After that, Gülseren Pusatlıoğlu, Ali Kenanoğlu, Neslihan Acar and Taylan Kesen were elected as members of the council. Gülistan Kılıç Koçyiğit spoke during the meeting. Gülistan recalled the words of Pir Sultan Abdal saying, “There is no durable wheel in corrupt system” and she said, “Name of the corrupt system is capitalism; name of the corrupt system is destroying everything for humanity and nature. In this system, those who struggle for freedom and equality keep their struggle because they believe that there is another life.”   ‘We should create our own Rojava’   “Fences were building between borders. Sometimes sisters, relatives had to look from the other side of the fence,” said Gülistan and she stated that the battles were face to face before but in the new process, the capitalist system has declared world wars. So are we desperate? The history of struggle on earth shows us that we are not desperate. We left behind the 100th anniversary of the October revolution but new October Revolutions are waiting for us. Rojava now becomes the Democratic Federation of North Syria with its spreading light. We also should create our own Rojava. We should carry out our own revolution. HDK stands for this. As of today, it stands for building the democratic republic. A democratic society can be built.”
