‘Release Pınar Tikit!’ 2017-12-16 17:22:31   İSTANBUL - Human Rights Association (İHD) İstanbul Branch Prison Commission requested the release of a 29-year-old patient Pınar Tikit, who has an arachnoid cyst of 8 centimeters in her brain, in the 299th "F Session" organized every week.   Members of the Human Rights Association (İHD) Istanbul Branch Prison Commission gathered at Galatasaray Square for the 299th "F Session" organized every week to draw attention to the situation of patient prisoners. The photographs of the patient prisoners were carried, slogans were shouted and the banners of "299th week of F session, Release Pınar Tikit", "Isolation kills, Close F type prisons", "isolation kills, give solidarity" and "Treatment is a right, cannot be prevented" were unfurled at the action. In this week's action on May 2017 Bayburt Prison, people drawn attention to the medical condition of patient prisoner Pınar Tikit, who was taken to Sincan Women's Closed Prison.  Initially, one of human rights defenders, Hatice Onaran talked at the action. She stated that the applicants to the authorities for the patient prisoners couldn’t take any response.   ‘She has life threat’    Afterward, Taylan Berkin from Human Right Defenders made a statement. Reminding that Turkey approved universal bill of Human Rights on April 6, 1949, Taylan emphasized that these rights ignored by emergency decrees and statutory decrees. Saying that prisons are used as a means of witch hunt by the state and by the administrators of the government, Taylan stated, “We call the state, who has a signature on the universal bill, to carry out the requirements of international agreements and law.”   Pointing out the situation of the patient prisoner Pinar Tikit, Taylan stated that there are eight centimeters arachnoid cysts in Pinar's brain and MR results were shown to the doctor of Sincan Female Closed Prison.   ‘There are destensions in her brain’    Bekin stated that there are destensions in Pınar’s brain and said, “The doctors said that this cyst had reached 10 centimeters and she should be operated. For this reason, she was sent to the Numune Hospital. The doctors said that it is not right to operate under prison conditions, otherwise there is a serious life threat. There are also a long-term fainting and having attack situations. She has heavy headache due to the cyst. Infirmary doctors give her painkillers and extends the treatment process.”   The action ended with slogans.
