Sexually abused child to be married to abusive man!

	VAN - Family of man sexually abused a child named Z.K allegedly made a deal with the child’s family in Çaldıran district of Van province. According to the deal, the child will be forced to marry to the abusive man if he is released.

	 

	On May 4, 2017, a shepherd named Emrah Toprak (23) and his brother sexually abused an eight-year-old child in a village of Van’s Çaldıran district. The villagers reported Emrah to the police and Emrah was detained. Erciş 1st High Criminal Court then jailed Emrah and sent him to Erciş A-type Closed Prison. Life Women Environment Culture and Enterprise Cooperative (YAKA-KOOP) announced that they would be in solidarity with the sexually abused child. The cooperative has announced that they have received a report saying the eight-year-old child will be married to the abusive man.

	 

	According to report, the family of man sexually abused the child allegedly made a deal with the child’s family and they gave money to the family and if their son is released, he can marry the eight-year-old child. Lawyer Eda Şenay, one of lawyers of Women's Commission of the Bar Association, said, “As commission, we will visit the family.”
