
New definition of 'mother' by prosecutor: Responsible person within the organization!

	DİYARBAKIR – Indictment has been prepared against Şahcan Tüner and Sibel İldan, who were taken into custody within the scope of political genocide operations. The word ‘mother’ in the SMS of Şahran is also added to the indictment. According to Diyarbakır Public Prosecutor the word ‘mother’; is the person responsible for the highest level of activity within the organization.

	Diyarbakır Public Prosecutor has completed the indictment against Şahcan Tüner and Sibel İldan, who were taken into custody within the scope of operations conducted on June 14 against members and administrators of the TJA (Free Women’s Movement), DTK (Democratic Society Congress), DBP (Democratic Regions Party), HDP (Peoples’ Democratic Party) and HDK (Peoples’ Democratic Congress). The prosecutors have sought a jail term of up to 10 years for Şahcan and Sibel on charges of “being member of a (terrorist) organization”, up to two years on charges of “making propaganda of a (terrorist) organization”, up to three years on charges of “violating the law on meetings and demonstrations”. Şahcan and Sibel are facing totally up to 30 years in prison.

	The indictment starts with the contract and the contract articles of the KCK (Kurdistan Communities Union). It explains the changes in the KCK organization, the KCK organizational system, and the general bodies of the KCK system. The indictment also includes the notes of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan written between 2002 and 2011 on meeting with his lawyers. The prosecutors mentions the historical background of the women’s structure of the PKK and talks about the KJA, which was closed down by an emergency decree, and about the abolished DÖKH as women’s assembly of the PKK.

	As Sibel İldan’s nine phone calls in 2016 have been added to the indictment, her phone conservation with the HDP Diyarbakır MP Sibel Yiğitalp has been added the indictment as criminal evidence.

	Marching against Daesh is a crime

	&nbsp;

	The indictment says that a curfew was declared in Lice (district of Diyarbakır) on June 21, 2016 and it describes Sibel’s phone conversations on holding human shield against operations and on carrying out works to create a public opinion against the curfew and on joining a march to protest the attacks of Daesh as “making propaganda of a (terrorist) organization”.

	‘Mother’ means the responsible person within the organization

	Şahcan Tüner’s phone conversation on June 26, 2016 has been also included the indictment. The sentence reading, “Çimen, mothers are waiting for you in Iran Passage” in a SMS of Şahran has been also included in the indictment. The prosecutors have defined ‘mother’ word again and they write ‘mother’ means the responsible person within the organization.

	The indictment has been accepted by the Diyarbakır 9th High Criminal Court and the first hearing will be held on October 30.&nbsp;
