Tens of thousands marched for the gains in Rojava 2026-02-10 15:24:28   NEWS CENTER - Residents of Qamishlo and Tirbespiyê organized a march demanding the protection of the gains achieved in Rojava and the guarantee of the Kurdish people's rights in the Syrian Constitution.   Residents of Qamishlo and Tirbespiyê, along with citizens displaced from Afrin, Shehba, Serêkaniyê, and Girê Spî who are currently in Qamishlo, held a march demanding the protection of gains made in Rojava and the guarantee of the Kurdish people's rights in the Syrian Constitution.    Thousands of people participated in the march, which began at the Sonî Intersection in Qamishlo with the slogan “Our unity is our existence.” During the march, banners were carried reading “The YPJ is the guarantee of women's freedom,” “We will make this day a day of solidarity with Rojava,” “Our language is our identity,” and “Our rights must be constitutionally guaranteed.” The march ended at Qamishlo Martyrs' Square, where the action turned into a rally.   ‘The true values of Islam are being upheld in Rojava’   Speaking at the rally on behalf of the Qamishlo City People's Initiative, Ebdulkerîm Sarûxan greeted the Kurdish, Arab, and Christian peoples living in Rojava, the Kurds living in Bakur, Bashur, Rojhilat Kurdistan, and abroad, as well as all the peoples of the world who support the struggle of the Rojava people out of moral responsibility. Ebdulkerîm Sarûxan stated that the Kurdish people are going through a sensitive process in which their rights must not be denied, emphasizing that national rights must now be explicitly recognized in the constitution and laws.   Stating that the rights of the Kurdish people must also be recognized in the Syrian Constitution, Ebdulkerîm Sarûxan said, "We can no longer be deceived by words. They want to deceive us with religious rhetoric. They should know that the true values of Islam are being lived in Rojava," he said, also calling on the US Congress.   The march ended with chants of “Bijî berxwedana Rojava” (Long live the resistance of Rojava).
