Sidra Mamo: The ceasefire is on paper 2026-01-30 11:02:27   Gülistan Gülmüş   RIHA -Journalist Sidra Mamo, reporting on the situation in Hesekê, a city in North and East Syria, said, "There is calm in Hesekê, which is under the control of the YPJ and QSD, but attacks continue in Til Temir."   Attacks by HTS and gangs affiliated with Turkey continue despite numerous ceasefires. While the attacks continue, the people of North and East Syria are showing great resistance despite many difficulties. Hesekê is one of the places where the attacks are taking place.   Journalist Sidra Mamo spoke to JINNEWS about the latest situation.   ‘The gangs want to stir up trouble between the Arab and Kurdish people’   Sidra Mamo first reported on the situation in Hesekê. Sidra Mamo said, “Control in Hesekê is in the hands of the YPJ and QSD forces. Here, the people are also fighting morning and night alongside the YPJ and QSD to protect the city. We know that some DAISH gangs want to stir up trouble between the Arab and Kurdish people here. However, despite this, the people are very cautious and are not falling into these traps. Everyone is armed and trying to protect their city. I am also following developments in Hesekê. There is calm here at the moment. Citizens had left their homes due to the threat posed by the gangs, but now they are returning to their homes. The people feel safe because they know that control here is in the hands of the YPJ and QSD forces."   'Attacks on Til Temir and its villages continue'   Sidra Mamo shared the information that attacks on Til Temir and its villages are continuing, stating: "However, attacks by HTS, DAISH and gangs affiliated with the Turkish state continue in Til Temir, which is part of Hesekê. The YPJ, YPG and QSD forces are complying with the ceasefire, but the gangs are not and are continuing their attacks. The gangs are carrying out attacks particularly on Til Temir and its villages. They specifically wanted to target the Assyrian village, known for its beliefs, which is affiliated with Til Temir. In general, the situation is as follows: there is a ceasefire, but attacks on the region continue."
