Sick prisoner Abdulrezzak Şuyur loses his life 2021-12-15 11:10:34     NEWS CENTER - Abdulrezzak Şuyur, a seriously-sick prisoner with lung cancer held in Şakran T-Type Prison, lost his life.   Abdulrezzak Şuyur, a 56-year-old seriously-sick prisoner held in Izmir Aliağa Şakran T-Type Prison, lost his life. Abdulrezzak, who was detained in 1993 in Muğla, was tried with the allegation of ‘’being a member of a terrorist organization’’ and sentenced to life imprisonment. Abdurrezak, who was sent to Şakran after Siirt and Antep Prisons, was diagnosed with lung cancer three months ago. Abdulrezzak, who also has asthma, was not treated after cancer diagnosis.   According to the news of the Mesopotamia Agency (MA), Abdulrezzak, who last met with his son two weeks ago, has not been heard from since that day. His older brother Muhsin Şuyur went to prison to see Abdulrrezak. The prison administration said that he would not be allowed to meet with him without giving any reason. The prison administration, which called his family one hour after his brother left the prison, said that Abdulrrezak lost his life. While the demand of Abdulrrezak, whose detention was objected to last year, was not accepted, he had 14 months left to be released from prison.   Retrial   Abdulrezzak applied to the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) before. In 2006, the ECtHR ruled that there are violations of rights in many aspects. The ECtHR provides reasons such as the length of the pre-trial detention and the violation of the right to a fair trial due to the military member at the Diyarbakır State Security Court. The ECtHR, according to Article 41 of the court, decided as: ‘’If the Court finds that there has been a violation of herein conventions and protocols and if the domestic law of the High Contractarian Party concerned can only partially redress that violation; The Court rule, if necessary, in an equitable manner, for compensation to the injured party. In a situation that the Court finds that he has been convicted by an independent and impartial court under Article 6 § 1 of the Convention, it is of the opinion that, in principle, the most appropriate form of redress would be to have the applicant retrial by an independent and impartial court, at his request’’.   ‘There are contradictions’   According to the information given by his brother Yunus Şuyur, a petition was given to continue his treatment outside a month ago. No response was given to the petition about could not to be treated in prison. His brother Yunus Şuyur stated that he met with him a month ago and said, ‘’We wonder how he got into this situation in one month. Did they operate on him? We do not know. We haven’t heard from for two weeks. He didn’t even make weekly phone calls. Has he died before? What happened so that he lost his life? There is a contradiction about his death. But we do not know what the situation is’’.   It was stated that Abdulrezzak’s body will be buried in the Eruh district of Siirt after the autopsy.
