Today in history: Curfew was declared in Cizre 2021-12-14 13:30:23   Following the declaration of self-governance in Cizre, the Office of the Governor announced that a curfew was declared in the district on December 14, 2015.   Other important developments in history today are as follows:   1908: Egyptian feminist philosopher, poet, writer, political activist Doria Shafik was born on December 14, 1908, in Tanta in the Nile Delta.   2018: Britain-based The Times Newspaper chose Lawyer Reyhan Yalçındağ Baydemir as the lawyer of the week due to the active law struggle in the field of human rights.   2019: Theater, cinema and TV series performer Hale Akınlı, who took part in films such as ‘’Yol’’ (The Road) and ‘’Don’t Let Them Shoot the Kite’’, lost her life after being treated for cancer. 2019:  Mesopotamia Agency (MA) editor Ziyan Karahan’s mother Ayşe Karahan, who had been treated for breast cancer for a long time and lost her life, was laid to rest.   2020: Thousands of people, mostly women, took to the streets in Warsaw, the capital of Poland, to protest the decision of the Constitutional Court that completely bans abortion with some exceptions. Despite the barricades set up by the polices, the women marched near the house of the Law and Justice Party (PiS) leader and Vice Prime Minister Jaroslaw Kaczynski.
