‘No any force can break the will of Yazidis’

	SHEHBA - Reacting to Turkey’s killing of Shengal Autonomous Administration Executive Council Co-chair Merwan Bedel with the drone attack, Rojava Yazidi Women’s Union Coordination member Suad Hiso stated that as Yazidi women, they will stand against the attacks with their resistance. She stated that no any force can break the will of the Yazidi community.

	 

	The reactions to the killing of Shengal Autonomous Administration Executive Council Co-chair Merwan Bedel in the airstrike of Turkey with a drone on Shengal on December 7 continue. Member of the Rojava Yazidi Women’s Union Coordination Suad Hiso, who reacted to the killing of Merwan, said that the Turkish state’s attacks were not the first.

	 

	Saying that she condemned the Turkish state that killed Merwan Bedel with an airstrike, Suad continued as, ‘’They have always wanted to destroy the Yazidis since the edict in 2014. However, Yazidis, especially Yazidi women, were organized after the edict. The Yazidis gathered their strength again. That’s why they are attacking Shengal. The Turkish state is constantly making plans against the Yazidis and putting them into action. Just as in the agreement made on October 9, 2020. At that time, they wanted to break the will of the Yazidis. Just as the occupants martyred Said Hesen, Zerdeşt Şengali and Mam Zeki as a result of their dirty plans before that, they now want to continue this. The same plan was carried out against Merwan Bedel. However, the Yazidi society is no longer what used to be, and today they are on their feet. We will never allow the occupants to destroy the Yazidis’’.

	 

	‘The Turkish state fears the strength of the Yazidis’

	 

	Suad said that Yazidi women will stand up to the Turkish state with their own strength and organisation and said, ‘’As Yazidi women, we follow in the footsteps of our martyrs. We do not end with the targeting our pioneers. On the contrary, our anger grows even more. We will be in the fields every day and we will carry out our work. With the philosophy of Leader Apo, the Yazidi community succeeded. As Yazidi women, we train and organize ourselves in every aspect. We will never allow the occupants to destroy the Yazidis. Our history is full of edicts, but we are no longer the same as before. Everyone wants to destroy us, but we will stand up to all and respond to all of them. We will resist and reach every oppressed Yazidi woman. The occupant Turkish state fears from our strength and it is attacking us for this reason. They can never break our will’’.
