‘Time of freedom’ meeting in Viranşehir: Our struggle will be an answer 2021-10-29 17:13:34     URFA - Speaking at the public meeting held in Viranşehir as part of the ‘’Now is the time of freedom’’ campaign, DBP Co-Chair Saliha Aydeniz stated that racist and discriminatory policies against Kurds continue on the anniversary of the establishment of the republic and said, ‘’We will defend the system that will defend democratic, unity and women’s rights against these systems’’.   The Democratic Society Congress (DTK) and Democratic Regions Party (DBP) held a public meeting in the Viranşehir district of Urfa as part of the ‘’Now is the time of freedom’’ campaign. Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Co-Chair Saliha Aydeniz, Democratic Society Congress (DTK) Co-Chair Berdan Öztürk, HDP Urfa MPs Ayşe Sürücü, Ömer Öcalan and many citizens attended the meeting held at the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Viranşehir district building.   ‘The political massacre is implemented to Kurds’   Speaking at the meeting, DTK Co-Chair Berdan Öztürk mentioned to the aggravated isolation imposed on PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan, emphasizing that the isolation was imposed on all Kurdish people. Stating that the war policies applied to the Kurds are increasing gradually, Berdan said, ‘’The AKP-MHP rulership is carrying out a political massacre against the Kurds in four parts of Kurdistan. Of course, the Kurdish people have never accepted these political massacres since history. However, the political massacres against the Kurds by the government still continue. They passed and accepted the resolution in the parliament for these political massacres. The Kurdish people have always continued to fight for their rights, peace and freedom against these massacres’’.   Mentioning the use of chemical weapons in the operations against Southern Kurdistan, Berdan underlined that Turkey will give account for the war policies that were implemented to Kurdish people.   ‘Our struggle will be an answer’   Speaking afterwards, DBP Co-Chair Saliha Aydeniz stated that the system implemented by the AKP-MHP rulership will be broken. ‘’Today is the anniversary of the establishment of the republic. Just at this time, policies of racism and discrimination against the Kurds began to be executed. But now we know that these racist policies are faced with breaking. We will defend the system that will defend democratic, unity and women’s rights against these systems. This system we defend will be a response to racism and the male mentality. We always continue our struggle against the racist and fascist system. The racist and fascist system is mostly applied on the prisoners. Prisons have become places of torture. Every day, a new crime against humanity is committed against the prisoners. Our people should unite and fight against these crimes against humanity,’’ Saliha said.
