2520 women exposed to violence in two months

	NEWS CENTER - In the Federated Kurdistan Region, it was announced that 2520 women were exposed to violence in two months. The city where violence against women is experienced the most is Hewlêr.

	 

	In the Federated Kurdistan Region, where violence, harassment and rape against women is increasing day by day, datas for July and August were announced by the General Directorate of Prevention of Violence Against Women and Family. According to the datas released by the Directorate, 894 incidents of violence against women were recorded in July and 1626 in August.

	 

	Most violence is in Hewlêr

	 

	In July, 894 violence incidents were recorded. According to the data, one woman was killed, five women were driven to suicide, three women died with flammable matter, 14 women were raped and 871 complaints of violence were recorded. Hewlêr experienced the most violence in July. 296 incidents of violence were determined in Hewlêr. 250 violent incidents were recorded in Duhok, 212 in Sulaymaniyah, 83 in Germiyan, 25 in Raperin and 28 in Soran.

	 

	According to the published data, 1626 women were exposed to violence in August. Three of the women were killed, three of them died under the name of suicide, four of them died with the flammable matter, and nine women were exposed to rape. According to the published violence incidents, there were 729 incidents of violence in Hewlêr and other cities, 356 in Duhok, 329 in Sulaymaniyah, 116 in Germiyan, 36 in Raperin and 41 in Soran.
