Emine Şenyaşar who seeks justice for 186 days testifies

	URFA - Emine Şenyaşar, who was investigated for allegedly ‘’insulting’’ Minister of Interior Süleyman Soylu, gave a statement at the courthouse on the 186th day of her ‘’justice’’ vigil.

	 

	The justice vigil started on March 9, in front of the Urfa Courthouse, by Emine Şenyaşar, who lost her husband and two sons as a result of the attack of AKP MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız’s bodyguard and relatives, and her son Ferit Şenyaşar, who survived the attack with injuries, is on its 186th day. The family, who came in front of the courthouse in the early hours of the morning, started the vigil with placards that written on ‘’We just want justice’’.

	 

	On the 186th day of the vigil, Emine Şenyaşar learned that a lawsuit was filed against her at the Urfa 2nd Criminal Court of First Instance for allegedly insulting AKP MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız. About the same speech, she was called to testify by the Urfa Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office on the grounds that she had ‘’insulted’’ the Minister of Interior Süleyman Soylu. Emine Şenyaşar, who entered the courthouse with her son Ferit Şenyaşar, was accompanied by Gökhan Dayık, one of the file lawyers.

	 

	Stating that she did not insult Süleyman Soylu in her statement, Emine Şenyaşar then went back to the vigil area.

	 

	‘It is intimidating’

	 

	Lawyer Gökhan Dayık pointed out that the ‘’defamation’’ case and the statement taken were aimed at intimidating the family’s struggle, and stated that his client did not ‘’insult’’ the Minister of Interior Süleyman Soylu. Reminding that a lawsuit was filed against his client for allegedly ‘’insulting’’ AKP’s İbrahim Halil Yıldız a few days ago, Gökhan said: ‘’Today she was also called to testify. In her statement, my client stated that the allegations were not true. This ongoing investigation, detentions are aimed at destroying the family’s struggle, this is obvious. As the family’s lawyers, we will continue to stand by and follow the file. Everyone with a conscience should not leave the family alone in this process. The only demand of the family is justice, which is the demand of everyone.’’

	 

	‘There is no lawsuit’

	 

	The family reacted to the ‘’defamation’’ case filed against Emine Şenyaşar from their virtual media account and shared the following message: ‘’When the AKP MP complains, a lawsuit is filed at jet speed. The mother who seeks justice is asked for four years in prison. MP Yıldız and his family murdered three people in front of the hospital security camera. It has been three and half years. There is no lawsuit.’’
