Application for meeting from Abdullah Öcalan’s lawyers 2021-09-02 15:39:47     ISTANBUL - Lawyers of PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan applied to Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office to meet with their client.   The lawyers of Kurdistan Worker’s Party (PKK) leader Abdullah Öcalan; Raziye Öztürk, Faik Özgür Erol, Rezan Sarıca and Cengiz Yürekli, made a new application to the Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, requesting a meeting with their client.   Applications are left unanswered   Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office imposed a six-month meeting ban on September 23, 2020, on the grounds of the ‘’Road Map’’ prepared by Abdullah Öcalan in addition to his defense submitted to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) in 2009. Again, in the applications made by the lawyers in March, it was revealed that Abdullah Öcalan was given a new disciplinary punishment in January 2021. No positive or negative response is given to applications made after March.   Rezan Sarıca and Newroz Uysal, two of Abdullah Öcalan’s lawyers, were able to meet with their client on May 2-22, June 12-18 and August 7, 2019, after eight years.   No news for more than five months   Abdullah Öcalan, who has been held under severe isolation conditions in Imralı Prison for 22 years, was given the right to speak by phone for the first time on April 27, 2020. The PKK leader had spoken to his brother Mehmet Öcalan on the phone again on March 25, as concerns grew in the public due to some of the posts on the virtual media. However, Mehmet Öcalan announced that this conversation was interrupted.
