Saying that there has been a great interest in Kurdish language courses recently, Kurdish teacher Seyhan Şaşmaz called on families to attend the courses with their children.   Mesopotamia Language and Culture Research Association (MED-DER) is preparing to start face-to-face educations, which it took a break during the pandemic period, as of September. In addition to face-to-face education, online Kurdish educations will continue. Courses will be given as beginner, first, second and third level.   Seyhan Şaşmaz, one of the MED-DER Kurdish teachers, said that the interest in the courses has been intense lately and that they have reached a very large masses and thousands of people with the online educations they carried out during the pandemic process.   ‘Children happily participate in education’   Seyhan, who stated that they do special works for children, said: ‘’’We also have room to educate children. We give education for children so that they can learn their own language and culture. We organize various entertainments so that children can participate. Children and their families apply for education together. In this process, we provide lessons in the field of culture and arts to children along with the Kurdish language lesson, enabling them to get to know their language and culture more closely. Along with the entertainments we organize, children learn the alphabet quickly, and they get to know Kurdish music closely with the songs they sing. In this way, children participate to education with great joy.’’   ‘Families should protect Kurdish language and culture’   Stating that families should be sensitive so that language does not disappear, Seyhan said: ‘’There have been attacks on the Kurdish language and culture for years. Together with the educations we provide, we are fighting against the danger of extinction of the Kurdish language and culture. Educations started to be given in many parts of Turkey. Families should also protect their language and culture. For this, Kurdish should be spoken at home, especially with children and they should be sent to education. Likewise, families should also participate to educations.’’
